An application for Outline Planning Permission was put forward to the Planning Committee on 12th May 2009 by Deveron Highland. Andrew McCracken and David Polson, in their report to the Committee on the 12th May, recommended granting permission.  At the Hearing,  NRCG were given 4 minutes to cover the concerns of approximately 50 people and also respond to the 19 page report and recommendation from the Planning Department which they were only able to access 4 days before the hearing.

As a result of the objections, Sandy Park proposed a Motion to Refuse Permission stating 4 reasons, which were later communicated to all stakeholder objectors in a letter from the Planning Department a week later. (Download letter here) There was no debate on the matter once the Motion to refuse permission was unanimously agreed.

Press Notes and a copy of NRCG objections were circulated to all member of the Press and  MFR on the day of the Hearing but the Chairman of the Planning Meeting, Jimmy Gray, refused to allow the Councillors access to our written objections.  We were only allowed 4 minutes to speak so most issues were not covered.
We have also sent today, (electronically) our letter outlining our objections plus a copy of the letter sent to the Councillors, to All Highland MSPs together with the original Planning Report recommending acceptance of the Deveron Proposal.
