Of course Nairn needs a full time traffic warden and also one that fulfils the job description.

The double parking on the High St (especially by taxis) causes considerable inconvenience to say nothing of vans and small lorries (from a local building firm) parked all day in the loading bay spaces on The Brae.

There are not any signs (or any legislation) stipulating that taxis and commercial vehicles are exempt from parking, loading and unloading activities so why is it allowed ?

It is bad enough at the moment driving on the roads in and around the town centre dodging all the potholes and raised ironworks without having to play dodgems in the High St.

Nairn needs a full time traffic warden and also one that enforces the rules and regulations. I did hear a rumour that the Nairn traffic warden was instructed not to give out tickets to tourists (and there may be a good case for that) but they never seem to be the main culprits anyway. It is inconsiderate local people that are too lazy to use the car parks provided and they double park and use the loading bays instead.

This so called sharing with Inverness (joke !) is yet another erosion of the provision of public services affecting Nairn. We all know the current financial and economic situation is not the best at present but Nairn seems to be an easy target for all cost cutting at the moment.
